I named my design inspiration blog hyphenation because the hyphen connects two ordinarily separate words to generate new meaning and clarity of speech as well as being a visual indicator used to avoid ugly looking text blocks. The logomark is derived from the original representation of a hyphen used on the gutenberg press which used two 45 degree angle lines rather than the horizontal dash we use today.
